Getting to Ghana
Ghana is located in West Africa and is easily accessible by road from most countries in the region. Ghana shares borders on the north with Burkina Faso, the east with Togo, the west with Ivory Coast and to the south, the Atlantic Ocean.

Airlines
Ghana is increasingly becoming the hub in West Africa for lots of international flights, due to her rapid economic growth, recent oil find, the peace she enjoys and above all, the warmth and hospitality of her people. Several airlines offer flights from 2 to 7 times weekly to and from Accra, the capital.

​The following Airlines fly to Accra’s Kotoka International Airport: United Airlines, Emirates Airlines, Delta Airlines, KLM, British Airways, TAP Air Portugal, Turkish Airlines, Iberia, Brussels Airlines, Middle East Airlines, as well as other African airlines such as Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Egypt Air, Royal Air Maroc, Arik Air, Aero Contractors, Air Burkina, Air Mali, Air Cote d’Ivoire, and Ceiba Intercontinental amongst others. There are couple of domestic airlines in Ghana you can travel on to number of cities within the country. These include Starbow Airlines, and Africa World Airlines.

Entry Visas
All foreigners (except ECOWAS CITIZENS) entering Ghana and other West African countries require Entry Visas unless stated otherwise (see specific country’s government website). Entry Visas must be obtained before arrival in Ghana and may be obtained from a Ghana Embassy, High Commission or Consulate in your home country. Where Ghana has no Consular or Diplomatic representation, an application for Entry Visa may be made to the nearest Diplomatic Mission or Consulate authorized by the Government of Ghana to act on its behalf.

Climate/Clothes
Ghana like most African countries has a tropical climate and can get quite warm. This can be a little uncomfortable for the first time visitor, so we recommend that you bring along light cotton clothes, sunglasses, sun screens and hats.

Health requirements
Yellow Fever vaccination is required for entry into Ghana. We also recommend that you take the necessary precautions against Malaria fever, so please consult your personal physician before you travel. Visit Passport Health for Ghana travel immunizations. 

Currency
The currency used in Ghana is known as the Ghana Cedi. The exchange rates of the cedi to international currencies in a bank or forex bureau vary from place to place. The difference is usually very small though. We recommend that you bring along cash; however, travelers cheques and credit cards are accepted at some places. You should however note that travelers cheques are exchanged for lower cedi rates and so are small denominations (1-20) of US dollars bills. Note that not all forex bureaus accept travelers cheques. Regarding credit cards, VISA is widely accepted. You can also withdraw cash (cedis) from some selected ATM machines using your VISA card.

Electrical Appliances
Ghana operates on 220 volts, so if you should keep that in mind if you are bringing along any electrical appliances

Communications
It is very easy to make international telephone calls from Ghana. Please note that the cost of making international phone calls from hotels can very expensive. There are various mobile telecommunication companies operating in Ghana that have relatively cheaper rates. Most hotels in Ghana and other West African countries have WIFI services but please note that some charge for the service. Also, hotels in small towns may not have internet services; however, there are numerous internet cafes in every corner in most towns or alternatively you can use your mobile device.

Gratuities
We have not added gratuities to the cost of our tours. This is something we leave to groups and individuals. However, you will agree that when a good service is rendered, a tip to the one providing the service is in order. We recommend that you set aside an amount to tip porters, waiters, drivers, guides, etc.
